Cheese Steaks Made To Perfection

A cheese steak is made up of thinly sliced, sautéed rib-eye beef and melted cheese on a long, crusty roll. Common toppings include fried onions, hot or sweet peppers, sautéed mushrooms, and ketchup.

cheesesteak hoagie is a combination of a cold hoagie (as subs are called in the Philly area), and the traditional hot cheesesteak. These have lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.

But not all cheese steaks are created equal!

At Steve’s, we use the freshest ingredients, our specially made rolls, and the best quality rib-eye steak available.

Steve’s Prince Of Steaks By The Numbers

Cheese steak consumption has its own etiquette. When ordering, there are two critical questions to answer: First, what kind of cheese do you want? (Whiz? Provolone? American?) Second, do you want onions?

If you want Whiz and onions, request a “Whiz wit.” Not into onions? Then ask for a “Whiz Widout,” which will yield a sandwich with Cheez Whiz and no onions. Next, ask for any other toppings or condiments you desire.

Then, sit down and enjoy a scrumptous cheese steak!

Freqently Asked Questions

What is the Original Philadelphia Cheese Steak?

Contrary to popular belief, and most restaurants outside of Philadelphia serving the “Philadelphia Cheese Steak” the traditional Philadelphia Cheese Steak doesn’t come with provolone cheese, mushrooms, peppers, and onions.

The true Philadelphia Cheese Steak is a whiz wit. Which in Philadelphian terms means, a Cheese Steak with cheese whiz and fried onions. This simple yet delicious sandwich will leave your mouth watering.

Do you offer anything else besides Cheese Steaks?

Of course! We want everyone to find something they like.

Our menu includes hoagies, chicken steaks, hamburgers, and even salad in some of our locations.

What is the difference between a Steak and Cheese Steak?

The answer is simple, Cheese! We always suggest American cheese (our specialty) or cheese whiz but the choice is ultimately yours.

If those choices scare you, we do offer provolone and mozzarella cheeses for an additional charge, but trust us – we know Cheese Steaks.

Do you use peanut oil?

No. Steve believes that peanut oil takes away from the true flavor of the product. His fries are too good not to love!

Is your roll dairy-free?

Yes, it is. No egg or milk products added but Margarine is included.

Is your roll made in a facility with nuts?

Yes, it is. Although our rolls do not contain nuts, they are baked in a facility with nuts.

Do you have gluten-free rolls?

No. Our roll contains gluten, flour, and yeast.

Although we do not carry gluten-free rolls, you are more than welcome to bring a roll with you or eat your steak on a plate.

Doesn’t a pizza steak come with provolone cheese?

Well, if you want to get technical, a pizza steak should have mozzarella cheese on it, since a pizza comes with mozzarella cheese. But, here at Steve’s, the choice is yours.

Our pizza steaks come with American cheese or cheese whiz and for an additional charge, you can get provolone or mozzarella instead.
